We’re Open! Book a Table at The Lions Hotel Today

After over three months of closure, we’re thrilled to announce that The Lion Hotel in Derbyshire is now open. Whilst we are still restricted to serving outside, we’re just thrilled to start seeing you all again. In order to provide our customers with the best possible experience, we’ve got tables available to be booked and some on a first-come first-served basis too. To explain our full reopening plans, we’ve put together the following plan.

How Will It Work?

To welcome people back to our Derbyshire gastropub, The Lion Hotel, we’ve prepared for every eventuality. In our outdoor area, we have tables available to be pre-booked and some tables available on a first-come first-served basis. Whilst Summer is almost upon us anyway, we’re not going to let any weather get in our way.

Therefore, each of our pre-booked tables are available under cover. Once you arrive, you will be taken to your table and be able to take advantage of our three menus on offer depending on what time you visit us.

Food and Drink

Our chefs are well and truly back with a bang. Depending on what time you visit, you can visit for your Breakfast, our Gastro Menu or Afternoon Tea. Our three menus are served between the following times:

Breakfast: 9-12pm
Gastro Menu: 12pm-8pm
Afternoon Tea: 12-4pm

Breakfast

If you’re joining us for breakfast, you can get your morning off the right start with our Full English featuring Owen Taylor’s award-winning sausage. Alternatively, if you’re looking for something a little lighter, our eggs benedict or eggs royal may tickle your tastebuds. We also offer a vegetarian breakfast filled with everything from vegetarian sausages to hash browns. You can also kickstart your day with our range of coffees and other hot drinks.

Gastropub Menu

If you’re joining us from midday, you’ll also have the option of choosing something from our Gastro Menu. Created using only the freshest and finest ingredients, this home cooked food is sure to keep the whole family happy. From home-cooked favourites such as our steaks and Big L Burger, to a little foreign infusion from Vegan Thai Red Curry and Chicken Shawarma, there’s something for everyone. Not only that, but as one of Derbyshire’s best pizza restaurants, we can also offer stone baked pizzas packed full of your favourite toppings. If you’re feeling brave, you could even take on The Lion Yard. Perfect for sharing, this yard long pizza can be a combination of any three pizzas or your favourite eight toppings.

Afternoon Tea

Following our return, we are also welcoming back bookings for our afternoon tea. Available through bookings only, between 12-4pm, please contact us if you would like to visit us for this. As a part of our afternoon tea, you will get a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade cookies, fresh scones with jam and cream and homemade cakes. Served with the option of adding a bottle of prosecco, this is perfect for any celebration or even just a treat.

Book Your Table in our leading Derbyshire Hotel Today

If this sounds good to you, get in touch today and secure your seat. We can’t wait to welcome you back and our friendly staff will be on hand to get you booked in as soon as we can. If it is that you decide to visit us more spontaneously, you can take advantage of our first-come first-served tables. However, if you wish to order our afternoon tea, please do remember to book ahead, so that our chefs can prepare all of your baked goods fresh.

Here at The Lion Hotel, we pride ourselves on being one of the best hotels in Derbyshire. Not only that, but our gastropub menu and pizza restaurant have also earned a reputation in Derby for their high quality, homemade cuisine. In addition to opening up our outdoor dining area, we are also continuing to offer our takeaway menu.
