Wedding Venue Facilities & Capacity
The Lion Hotel in Belper, Derbyshire is a fully licensed wedding venue, equipped with a choice of two suites for the solemnisation of marriage and civil partnerships.
The biggest of the two spaces, The Arkwright Suite, is ideal for larger wedding receptions of up to 70 guests for your civil wedding or partnership and 120 guests for an evening reception.
Or, for a more intimate atmosphere, The Strutt Suite can seat up to 40 guests for a civil wedding or partnership, and up to 30 guests for the wedding breakfast.

Wedding Menus & Drinks Packages
We have a flexible range of menus to choose from for your big day. This includes:
- a choice of canapés
- a 3 course wedding breakfast
- additional courses (such as sorbets, cheese boards, etc)

We also offer a range of special drinks packages to keep your guests hydrated throughout the day and ensure they always have a drink in hand to toast the happy couple!
Wedding Venue Accommodation
Our stunning Derbyshire wedding venue has 22 luxurious bedrooms available for you and your guests to enjoy on your big day. Recently refurbished, our accommodation is furnished in a rustic style surrounded by beautiful 18th century architecture alongside all the mod-cons you would expect from a modern hotel.
All of the convenience and cleanliness, as well as the character!
We have a range of rooms to choose from, including family rooms, all of which include an en-suite bathroom, television, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, ironing board, wardrobe, fresh, cosy towels and complimentary toiletries.
