While we think our mothers should be celebrated every day of the year, it’s nice to spoil them completely on Mother’s Day. Surrounded by other mothers with their children too. So why not spoil them The Lion way?
The Menu
Not all mums have the same taste in foods, nor do her children. This means that we need to have a nice selection of different foods available on our set mothers day menu.
For starters, we have opted for a selection of springtime favourites. Our spicy roast tomato soup is a spin on the classic, while our ham hock and stilton terrine with apple puree and a walnut salad is a mix of tastes.
For mains, for our springtime dish, we have lamb, accompanied by both roast and mash potatoes, roasted seasonal vegetables and minted gravy. Of course, a big lamb dish isn’t for everyone. Our Pistachio Crusted Salmon Fillet is served with buttered spinach, sprouted broccoli, garlic & chive creme fraiche. Alternatively, we have Gnocchi Four Cheese, served with
grilled asparagus, broccoli and garlic bread.
Deserts, our favourite course. The favourite of many mums, is the tiramisu. Our desert selection wouldn’t have been complete without it. But then there are the mums looking to try something new. What about our White Chocolate & Lime Cheesecake served with poached rhubarb, ginger syrup? Is your mouth watering too?
Not Just Mothering Sunday
Of course, Mother’s day doesn’t have to end at the end of your meal. Why not make a night of it? Treat your mum to a stay in one of our luxury en-suite rooms, right here is one of the most relaxed hotels in Derbyshire.
Our luxury rooms allow your mum the space to completely relax, whether that’s making the most of the comfortable mattress, a soak in the bath with our complimentary toiletries. Take a look at our stay the night page for more information, or get in touch with the team to discuss bookings.
One For The Dads
On father’s day, many people give a shout out to those mums who have brought their children up alone. We want to give the same shout out to those dads who bring their children up alone. Just a shout to say thank you. We hear you, we see you and we appreciate you. So if you want to bring your dad along instead, please do!
If they aren’t into the whole pink floral theme that seems to surround mothers day, bring him in the week after and tuck into one of our succulent Sunday lunches. Never let their love and support go unnoticed.
So, if it’s time to spoil your mum, why not give us a shout. We will help you to make the day memorable and give your mum the best experience we possibly can! Get in touch today to book your table or your stay.
