Wildlife lovers, walkers and those looking for some peace and tranquility, we have something just for you. Whether you are looking to take a walk around, or just sit and relax as the world goes by, the Attenborough Nature Reserve has the simplistic bliss of being so far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Well known for the vast array of birds that can be seen across the reserves 205 hectares, it is a hotspot for bird waters. So grab your binoculars and your bird spotting book and take a seat next to the serene lake. You won’t find yourself disturbed by watersports of any kind, just maybe the occasional mallard getting a little to close.

Grab yourself a coffee from the onsite cafe to sit with, or enjoy people watching sitting outside the cafe itself. Whichever mood you find yourself in when you get there, you will certainly find yourself coming away much calmer and somewhat happier.
Don’t forget to head into the farm shop on the reserve, treat yourself to a range of fresh fruit and veg.

Have you packed your camera? You’ll find a mixture of both avid photographers and novice alike camped out on the grass, trying to catch the money making shot. Keep still for long enough you may even catch sight of one of the resident otters heading out for a dip in the lake! Please don’t follow them though, we don’t want you disturbing their home!

If you’re looking for something a little more active, the Attenborough Nature Reserve boasts a number of great walking trails around the reserve, take a look around for the signs and you’ll find the likes of the Tufted duck route, the Skylark trail and the Kingfisher trail.
